Presently I live in Newport Beach with my husband of 25 years and my two children.  I co-lead a Bible study at my church and write Bible studies and blog with my mom, Diana.  The mere fact that my mom and I now have a ministry together is a testament to our Lord’s transforming power even in the most broken of families.  Right before my eighth grade year, in 1978, my father left my mom and me.  At this time my mom was in a vice grip of addiction to drugs and alcohol. I wrote in the I AM Bible study that I am an alcoholic and drug addict who gave a devotion to the alcohol like Jezebel gave to Baal. Through AA I began to realize there was a God, and, through my daughter, I discovered there was a Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  I have walked now for some 33 years with the Lord. I cannot say that I have always loved living in his transformative power.  I have learned that often, the only way I grow and grow up in the Lord is when the need and the pain have brought me to the end of my rope, (a holy place to the Lord a friend used to say), and I am powerless to do anything for myself. My Daughter and I

Some Ways We Are Alike 1. We both love the Lord with all hearts. We pray together at least twice a week and feel that prayer is a real activator for heavenly action. 2. We love writing and especially writing together about the Lord. 3. We love hanging out with each other when we can, not often as I live in Denver and she lives in Newport Beach. 4. As a family–mom, daughter, dad–we love museums, plays, good books and good movies. 5. When we travel together as a family, the three of us love long Bible studies in the morning whether we debate or agree. Some Ways We Are Different Kimmy runs and so appreciates a beautiful, orderly home that she watches over and treats with such care and almost tenderness. Her yard blooms with the most beautiful flowers and gorgeous, artistic design; and, for me, when sitting there, I have a sense of her garden...
