Presently I live in Newport Beach with my husband of 25 years and my two children.  I co-lead a Bible study at my church and write Bible studies and blog with my mom, Diana.  The mere fact that my mom and I now have a ministry together is a testament to our Lord’s transforming power even in the most broken of families.  Right before my eighth grade year, in 1978, my father left my mom and me.  At this time my mom was in a vice grip of addiction to drugs and alcohol. These were dark and sad days for me but in the midst of this darkness God would send a wonderful Christian family that would open the door for me to attend Lutheran High School.  It is there that I would become a Christian.   My mom sobered up right before I went to Lutheran High School, and, at the same time, my dad returned home. During my years at Lutheran High my mom would also become Christian.   Thus began the years of healing for my family but as it would turn out the journey for me would not be easy and would be full of my own poor choices and mistakes.

The next great spiritual turning point in my life would occur not during college or law school,  where I met and later married the love of my life or even when I gave birth to my  two beloved children.   It happened when I stepped through the doors in 1996  to a woman’s Bible study at my church.  Little did I know that it was this seemingly inconsequential event that would completely change my universe.  For the first time I fell utterly and hopelessly in love with Jesus.  The combination of meaningful Bible teaching and deep fellowship with those who love Jesus gave me a new found intimacy with my Savior, an accelerated healing of my past, and a love of teaching others what the Lord was teaching me.  Today this Bible study, this amazing community of believers and their authentic sharing continually give me an incredibly deep well to draw from.
